Coaching: 7th Grade Football, 8th Grade Basketball, Track and Field
Coach Polhert grew up in the Round Rock area, where he discovered his lifelong love for sports and coaching. He has been coaching for the last 3 years. He graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science. His goal is to create a positive environment for everyone involved and to make sure every athlete builds skill and confidence in all areas of athletics. In his free time, Coach Polhert likes to go on hikes with his dog, play basketball, and support the San Antonio Spurs.

Shamir Davis, Boy's Athletics and Pre-Athletics
Education: Northwestern State University, Letourneau University
Coaching: 8th Grade Football, Basketball, Track and Field, Powerlifting
Coach Davis was born and raised in a tough neighborhood in Shreveport, LA. He is the first in his family to graduate from college. After a standout high school career, he attended Northwestern State University on a Division 1 basketball scholarship to be closer to his family. While attending NSU, Coach Davis was the Southland Conference MVP champion and earned his bachelor's in Psychology in 2013. Following graduation, he played professional basketball overseas for a few years in Spain. Next, he earned his master's degree in business administration from Letourneau University in 2019. He has been coaching basketball, football, and track in Longview ISD. With more than 10 years of coaching experience, he will make a great addition to the Tippit Family. He enjoys reading, exercising, and challenging himself in new avenues. Coach Davis is a lifelong 49ers fan. His favorite thing is spending quality time with his wife and enjoying their 5-year-old triplet daughters Izra, Sanaz, and Kohana!

Carlos Soto, Boy's Athletics and Professional Communication
Education: Southwestern University
Coaching: 8th Grade Football, 7th Grade Basketball, Track and Field, Powerlifting
Coach Soto grew up in Eagle Pass, TX. After a successful athletic career in high school, he was allowed to continue playing football at Southwestern University, where he attended for the next four years. With both of his parents being educators, he decided to follow in their footsteps and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in May 2025. This will be Coach Soto’s first year coaching, and he is excited to be a Tippit Titan. His goal is to be a role model for his athletes and help build them up to excel both on and off the field. Coach Soto enjoys lifting weights and playing video games during his free time. His favorite teams to watch are the Cincinnati Bengals, TCU Horned Frogs, and Houston Astros.

Mark Gonzalez, Boy's Athletics and Social Studies
Education: University of Mary Hardin-Baylor | Lamar University
Coaching: 7th Grade Football, Soccer
Coach Gonzalez was born in Harlingen, TX, and grew up in Pflugerville. He earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lamar University. This is Coach Gonzalez's second year coaching and his first year at Tippit Middle School. He previously coached middle school soccer in Killeen and brings a deep love for sports and a passion for mentoring young athletes. In his free time, Coach Gonzalez enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, hiking, watching movies, and cheering on the Detroit Lions, AS Roma, and West Ham United.
