2024 Tippit Titan Cross Country Team Information
Coach Angela Harris and Coach Ben Lucus would like to welcome you to our 2024 Cross Country season. Whether your athlete is a returning team member or new to cross country, we are looking forward to coaching, training and having a GREAT competitive season!
All participants must have a current physical exam on file dated after May 1st, 2024. The online GISD athletics digital forms and the catastrophic insurance fee must also be completed prior to participation in the program. An off campus practice approval document is required before athletes can participate in any off campus practice. Participants DO NOT have to be in athletics class to be on the XC team, but a cleared physical is required.
The first XC practice will be August 20th , 2024. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m. We will BEGIN practice promply at 7:15 a.m. Please be sure your child arrives on time. We will meet inside by the girls coaches office in the red chairs for attendance. We will also incorporate several after school training to ensure students are acclimatized for running in hotter temperatures. Times TBD. Our Tippit boys and girls will practice together under coaches supervision.
Uniform: Students will wear athletics clothing for practice. This can be school appropriate shorts, t-shirt, or sweats. Team shirts will be available for purchase and will be worn on race days. Athletes will be issued a Cross Country team uniform required for race days. These uniforms must be turned in upon completion of the season.
It is important that your athlete comes to practice prepared. A few things needed at practice are running shoes, comfortable appropriate clothing, a labeled water bottle, and most importantly, a positive attitude for the physical and mental challenge of Cross Country!
